Lia’s meeting was on the 60th floor, in a corner office, with a view of Chicago that took her breath away. When the power went out, her gut told her something horrible was happening. Then she saw the plane heading for the building. She had to get out.

Terror swept through the office.

The ground floor was a long way down.

One wrong move might be her last.

Jasper’s short trip was going smoothly. Though he did find it strange he couldn’t get through to Lia during his flight to Kentucky. She was always easy to reach. Then the plane lost power. Jasper barely had a moment to gather himself before they hit the water.

It was a miracle he made it out and to shore with only some cuts and bruises.
